Commentary Team & Tournament Arbiters Announced For The Third Leg of The Grand Chess Tour

July 13, 2022 The Grand Chess Tour (GCT) has confirmed the commentary team and the arbiters for SuperUnited Rapid & Blitz Croatia. The third leg of the Grand Chess Tour will feature a commentary team composed of Grandmasters Yasser Seirawan, Cristian Chirila, Evgeny Miroshnichenko, and Alejandro Ramirez as well as Woman Grandmaster Anastasia Karlovich.

World Champion Magnus Carlsen Joins SuperUnited Rapid & Blitz Croatia for the Third Leg of the 2022 Grand Chess Tour in Zagreb

Monday, May 23, 2022 – The Grand Chess Tour (GCT) has confirmed the field for the SuperUnited Rapid & Blitz Croatia leg that will include six full tour participants and four wildcards. Reigning World Champion Magnus Carlsen, the No. 1#1 ranked player in the world, headlines the field and will be joined by former FIDE World Champion Veselin Topalov. Rounding out the wildcards will be 2021 Tata Steel winner GM Jorden van Foreest and top Croatian GM Ivan Saric.

BUCHAREST, ROMANIA AND SAINT LOUIS, MO. (May 16, 2022) – The first leg of the 2022 Grand Chess Tour (GCT) has concluded with Grandmaster Maxime Vachier-LaGrave taking the first place crown of the Superbet Chess Classic Romania. The tournament included all nine full tour players and one local wildcard player, Romanian Grandmaster Bogdan-Daniel Deac, all of whom competed over nine rounds for the $350,000 total prize fund.

World’s Best Chess Players Compete in the Sinquefield Cup, the final event of the 2021 Grand Chess Tour

SAINT LOUIS, Monday, August 16th – The sixth edition of the Grand Chess Tour (GCT) has returned to America’s Chess Capital at the Saint Louis Chess Club this month. The Sinquefield Cup will begin on August 17th, immediately following the conclusion of the 2021 Saint Louis Rapid & Blitz.
